The Founder of Peace and National Unity \u2014 Leader of the Nation,\u00a0\u00a0President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took\u00a0\u00a0part in the Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the United\u00a0\u00a0States of America in the U.S. city of New York.<\/p>\n
The Summit started with the welcoming of the heads of the states of\u00a0\u00a0Central Asia by the President of the United States of America and a\u00a0\u00a0commemorative photo-taking ceremony of the participants.<\/p>\n
The work of the Summit was inaugurated with an opening remarks by the\u00a0\u00a0President of the United States of America, Joseph Biden.<\/p>\n
During their speeches, the leaders of the Central Asian countries made a\u00a0\u00a0number of proposals regarding the important issues on the agenda of the\u00a0\u00a0meeting and further strengthening of the beneficial cooperation of the\u00a0\u00a0countries of the Summit.<\/p>\n
The Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon, expressed\u00a0\u00a0confidence that the results of today\u2019s meeting would facilitate the\u00a0\u00a0further strengthening of cooperation in the \u00abCentral Asia \u2014 United\u00a0\u00a0States of America\u00bb format.<\/p>\n
Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon stated that Tajikistan fully\u00a0\u00a0supports the efforts of countries to develop cooperation in the fields\u00a0\u00a0of economy, transport and communications, water and energy and other\u00a0\u00a0critical issues of sustainable development.<\/p>\n
\u00abOn the basis of the urgent task of promoting the \u00abgreen economy\u00bb,\u00a0\u00a0Tajikistan attaches primary importance to the development of green\u00a0\u00a0energy,\u00bb \u2014 President Emomali Rahmon emphasized.<\/p>\n
During the speech, President Emomali Rahmon spoke about the effective\u00a0\u00a0use of Tajikistan\u2019s hydropower resources, the production of \u00abgreen\u00a0\u00a0energy\u00bb, Tajikistan\u2019s global initiatives in solving global issues, such\u00a0\u00a0as climate change and its effects, melting glaciers and other global\u00a0\u00a0problems that create serious obstacles to the development and progress\u00a0\u00a0of the countries.<\/p>\n
In his speech, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon drew the\u00a0\u00a0attention of heads of state to the issue of increasing threats and\u00a0\u00a0dangers, combating terrorism and extremism, illegal trafficking of\u00a0\u00a0narcotics, ensuring regional security, the political situation in\u00a0\u00a0Afghanistan and protecting the state border of Tajikistan, and in this\u00a0\u00a0process, cooperation and assistance of international partners was\u00a0\u00a0considered necessary.<\/p>\n
It was highlighted that Tajikistan has been offering its logistics\u00a0\u00a0capacity, including 6 bridges on the border with Afghanistan, to supply\u00a0\u00a0humanitarian aid to the population of the neighboring country, and has\u00a0\u00a0exported construction materials and foodstuffs through re-opened border\u00a0\u00a0markets.<\/p>\n
The Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan,\u00a0\u00a0Honorable Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that stability in Afghanistan is an\u00a0\u00a0important factor in the development of interregional relations,\u00a0\u00a0therefore, we are interested in restoring peace and stability in this\u00a0\u00a0country as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
At the end of the speech, the Honorable President of the country,\u00a0\u00a0Emomali Rahmon, once again mentioned the stable and unchanging position\u00a0\u00a0of Tajikistan in solving the pressing issues of the global and regional\u00a0\u00a0community and the development and expansion of cooperation, and stated\u00a0\u00a0that we support the adoption of the Declaration of this Summit.<\/p>\n
It should be reported that according to the results of the Meeting of\u00a0\u00a0the Heads of State in \u00abCentral Asia \u2014 United States of America\u00bb format\u00a0\u00a0the Declaration of the Heads of State was adopted, in which the\u00a0\u00a0important global and regional issues and the main directions of\u00a0\u00a0cooperation between the countries of this format were pointed out.<\/p>\n
