The Newly appointed CSTO Secretary General Imangali TASMAGAMBETOV was presented to the CSTO Secretariat and members of the Organization’s Permanent Council
Imangali Nurgalievich Tasmagambetov appointed by the CSTO Collective Security Council to the post of Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, was presented by Alexander Volfovich, Chairman of the Committee of Secretaries of Security Council (CSSC) and State Secretary of the Security Council on January 10, 2023.
«The candidacy of Imangali Nurgaliyevich Tasmagambetov for this high post was nominated by the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan and approved by a decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council on November 23, 2022. He will serve for three years until December 31, 2025,» Alexander Volfovich said. He noted that Tasmagambetov held various government positions in the Republic of Kazakhstan in different years, he was Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan, the head of the Presidential Administration, headed the Government of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and was Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Russia.
