Tajikistan FM to attend ECO Ministerial Council Summit
The next meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held from January 23 to 24 this year in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting will bring together with ministers and deputy ministers of foreign affairs of 20 ECO member states from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Turkey . Shahin Samadi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, informed the «Voice of Tajikistan» radio station.
It is expected that the meeting, t will discuss issues on expanding cooperation in priority areas, implementation of ECO programs and projects, gains and losses of all areas and their future development.
It should be said that the Economic Cooperation Organization is a regional intergovernmental organization, which was established in 1985 with the aim of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation between the countries of the region. The main areas of cooperation are trade, transport and communication, energy, tourism, agriculture and industry.
