A working document was prepared to assess the possible impact of natural disasters on the stability of the debt of Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

Analysts of the Eurasian Fund for Stability and Development (EFSD) have prepared a new working document «Assessment of the possible impact of natural disasters on the stability of the debt of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan». Due to the geographical location, the risk of natural disasters can have a serious impact on the macroeconomic indicators of these countries.
As part of the study, country profiles were compiled, including systematic geographic, climate, demographic and economic data, as well as the collection and analysis of data on past natural disasters. Based on the analysis of historical data, it was concluded that the main threats of possible natural disasters to the economic stability of Armenia are earthquakes and droughts, and for Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan earthquakes and floods.
