A meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on the presentation of the UN report was held in Dushanbe
As a result of the measures taken, the poverty level was reduced to 21.2 percent in 2023, the monetary income of the population increased by 3.3 times compared to 2017, and the number of entrepreneurs increased by almost 6 times. This was said at the meeting of the Joint Steering Committee on the presentation of the report of the United Nations /UN/ on the results of 2023 and the review of the annual work plan of the UN Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development for the years 2023-2026, which was held in Dushanbe with the participation of heads of ministries and departments of representatives of United Nations agencies — members of the resulting groups of the UN Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development .
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic the meeting was co-chaired by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda and the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Tajikistan Parvati Ramaswamy.
Zavqi Zavqizoda said that the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in his message to the Majlisi Oli, evaluated the significant achievements of the economic and social development of the country with comprehensive analyzes and determined the priority areas of development of the national economy for 2024 and the following years.
