President of Tajikistan visits Al Salam Palace Museum in Al-Kuwait
On November 4, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, as part of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, visited Al Salam Palace Museum, which is located in the Shuwaikh area of the city of Al-Kuwait.
The high-ranking guest was informed about the history of the construction of this cultural and historical edifice, which was started in 1960 as the residence of the Emir during the reign of the former Emir of Kuwait, the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salam Al-Sabah. However, sometime later in 1961, after the declaration of the country’s independence, due to the need to build a residence for the reception of official guests of the highest and highest levels, changes were made to the palace’s construction.
In 2019, after the completion of construction and renovation works, a historical and cultural museum was placed in the palace. This museum reflects different time stages of Kuwait’s 300-year history and exhibits a unique collection of historical artifacts and glimpses of national cultural heritage.
The museum is equipped with modern display technologies that provide an opportunity to present the history of Kuwait in an innovative way.
During his visit to the museum, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon, made an entry in the book of honored guests with wishes for greater prosperity of the friendly country and strengthening of good relations between the two states.
