President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon meets with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev
On March 31, a meeting was held in Khujand between the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Honorable Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President of our country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, welcomed the distinguished guest, congratulated him on the international holiday of Navruz, and expressed satisfaction with the rapid development of relations between the two countries in all areas of cooperation. The active expansion of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties was especially noted.
During the conversation, the Heads of State emphasized the importance of signing the historic Treaty on Allied Relations, calling it another clear proof of the strong friendship and mutual support between the two countries.
Both leaders stressed their readiness to continue to develop interstate relations in this spirit.
During the fruitful conversation, special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic cooperation.
The sides noted the steady growth of bilateral trade turnover, which is evidence of the significant potential of the two countries for its further expansion.
The growth of bilateral investment was called an important indicator of the expansion of economic cooperation.
In this context, the expediency of implementing joint investment projects, including in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture and transport, was noted.
The Heads of the two states paid special attention to fostering cultural and humanitarian cooperation, emphasizing the importance of holding scientific-practical conferences, forums, festivals, symposiums, and meetings of creative and scientific intellectuals.
They also exchanged views on some issues related to security, regional, and international problems.
