Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Today, the founder of peace and national unity — the leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,  Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the conversation, the heads of the two countries discussed the results of the meeting of the heads of the  Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Samarkand. In this context, the Leader of the Nation highly appreciated the organizational and content aspects of this important regional event.

The President of Tajikistan expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality and praised the results of the meeting of the heads of states, within the framework of which a significant package of decisions and documents on various areas of the Organization’s activities were adopted.

At the same time, the President of Tajikistan informed the President of Uzbekistan about the recent development of the situation in the border regions of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The parties also discussed some important issues of friendly relations, good neighborliness and beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.
